In what has become an eagerly anticipated annual tradition, hundreds of the top high school wrestlers from around the state will converge on Atlantic City to spend the weekend competing in the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) State Wrestling Championships at Boardwalk Hall March 2, 3, and 4, 2012. On Monday, Jan. 23 at 11 a.m. through Friday, Jan. 27 at 5 p.m., All-session tickets for groups and non-groups will go on sale at the Boardwalk Hall Box Office only. On Monday, Jan. 30 All-session tickets will go on sale at the Boardwalk Hall Box Office as well as all Ticketmaster locations, by calling 1-800-736-1420 or visiting

For group sales via e-mail or mail order, orders will be accepted from Monday, Jan. 23 through Monday, Feb. 6. Groups must consist of a minimum of 15 people and a maximum of 50. The competition begins at 5 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 2, for the preliminaries and pre-quarter finals. On Saturday, Mar. 3, the competition starts at 10 a.m. for the quarter-finals and wrestle-backs I and II.  Following the morning session, Boardwalk Hall will clear the facility and re-open doors at 4 p.m. for the 5 p.m. evening session of the semi-finals and wrestle-backs III and IV.  On Sunday, Mar. 4, competition begins at 10 a.m. for consolations, followed by the finals and awards ceremony at 2 p.m.  Doors open one hour prior to each session.

The tournament is the highlight of the year for the sport of wrestling.  The race for the championship title begins with the district competitions on Friday, Feb. 17 and Saturday, Feb. 18 in each of the 14 weight classes (106 lbs, 113 lbs, 120 lbs, 126 lbs, 132 lbs, 138 lbs, 145 lbs, 152 lbs, 160 lbs, 170 lbs, 182 lbs, 195 lbs, 220 lbs, 285 lbs.) and is open to all New Jersey high schools who are members of the NJSIAA.  The competition heightens with the final regional competition on Wednesday, Feb. 22, Friday, Feb. 24, and Saturday, Feb. 25. The season culminates with the State Championships in Atlantic City where the top wrestlers in each weight class of the eight regions will vie for the Championship Title.

Senior citizens (65 and older), children (2-12) and students with a valid grade school or high school ID are eligible for a $2 ticket purchased on the day of the event. Single-session reserved tickets will go on sale Monday, Feb. 6 and are priced at $10 per session.

A limited amount of parking is available in the Boardwalk Hall parking garage on a first-come, first-served basis.  Convenient, economical parking is located throughout Atlantic City in municipal lots and privately owned garages.  Guests are encouraged to park in the more than 13,000 available parking spots in close proximity.
