Pair of Holy Spirit Alums Sign NFL Deals
A pair of 2011 Holy Spirit Spartans are heading to NFL Camps.
University of Southern California linebacker Anthony Sarao, signed a rookie free agent deal with the Indianapolis Colts while his former Spartan teammate, quarterback Joe Callahan of Wesley College, signed with the Green Bay Packers.
At 5-11, 219 pounds, Sarao started three seasons for the Trojans, notching 12.5 career tackles for loss, seven sacks, and two interceptions. He will look to make the Colts roster as a special teams ace.
Callahan was the top quarterback in the Division III level, and had the best season ever for a Wesley quarterback with a single-season record 4,190 passing yards (4th-most in D3 history) and 46 touchdowns. He is the first NCAA Division III quarterback ever to throw for 5,000 yards in a season.
