One of the surprise transactions of the NFL Trade Deadline was the Eagles acquisition of Running Back Jay Ajayi from the Dolphins.  This is the second major transaction between Philadelphia and Miami over the last couple years.  Before the 2016 NFL Draft, the Eagles sent the 13th overall pick along with Kiko Alonso and Byron Maxwell to the Dolphins in exchange for the Eight Overall Pick.  The pick the Eagles received from the Dolphins was used to help Philadelphia move up to get the Second Overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft to select Quarterback Carson Wentz.  The history between executives Howie Roseman and Mike Tannenbaum goes back to 1999 when Roseman was an Intern for the New York Jets under Tannenbaum.

ESPN National Correspondent and NFL Reporter Sal Paolantonio joined Mike Gill on Friday and gave his impressions of the Eagles acquiring Jay Ajayi:

"I like the move completely, I think it’s great. There is some competition at the Running Back position and you know Jay Ajayi is a big downhill runner. He’s going to be good and they didn’t give up much for him....Howie Roseman worked for Mike Tannenbaum way back in the day; It was one of those deals where those guys talk all the time and (Ajayi) needed a change of venue, that was the bottom line and we will see how his knee holds up. But more importantly, how his attitude holds up."
