According to NFL Network NFL insider  Ian Rapoport new Eagles coach Doug Pederson believes impending free agent QB Chase Daniel is "more than a backup."

The connections are obvious, Daniels served as the Chiefs back-up under Pederson and Andy Reid in Kansas City.  He also would be a reunion of philosophy, Pederson came to Philly in 1999 with Andy Reid from Green Bay and started eight games before giving way to Donovan McNabb.

With Pederson running a similar version of Reid's offense in Philadelphia, bringing in Daniel as a cheaper alternative to Sam Bradford and drafting and developing a quarterback makes some sense.
