It's not often that you get to talk to a world champion.

It's not often that you get to talk with a hit king.

Mike Gill and Matt Segal did both.

World Series champion and the MLB hit leader, Pete Rose, called into 97.3 ESPN FM today.

"When I was managing, my favorite manager to play under...was me when I was a player/manager with the Reds," Rose said.

The hit king is in town for a lecture series to dish with fans about his playing days and managing days. He'll be discussing his rivalries with Willie Mays, Gary Carter, Tom Seaver, among others.

Rose maintains a long travel schedule to and from Las Vegas and really tries to mimic this lecture series after his long playing career.

Mike and Matt also talked with Rose about todays MLB game. Clayton Kershaw won the Cy Young award last night and could be in line for NL MVP Award, as well. Rose is most definitely still invested in the game that he loves playing and it sure shows in this interview with Mike Gill and Matt Segal
