Right fielder Hunter Pence has agreed to a one-year contract with the Phillies, Assistant General Manager Scott Proefrock announced today.  Pence will earn $10.4 million and his contract includes award bonuses. He had been eligible for salary arbitration.

Pence, 28, hit .314 with 22 home runs and a career-high 97 RBI in 154 games between the Houston Astros and Phillies last season. Following his acquisition from Houston on July 29, Pence, a 2011 National League All-Star, led the Phillies in several offensive categories, including batting average (.324), on-base percentage (.394), slugging percentage (.560), hits (67) and total bases (116). For his major league career, he has hit .292 with 114 home runs and 412 RBI in 734 games between the Astros (2007-11) and Phillies (2011).

The Phillies have no salary arbitration-eligible players remaining.
