It looking less and less likely that the Phillies will have Domonic Brown when they open the season next Monday.  Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg said Friday that it "could be unlikely" Brown is ready for Opening Day.

Without Brown, the Phillies will have a different look in the outfield and are using Ben Revere in left field, Odubel Herrera in center field and now a mix of guys in right field.  The interesting guy in the mix right now is Herrera, who the Phillies selected from the Rangers in the Rule 5 draft. He has had a strong spring is and is pushing for major playing time.

Herrera was primarily a second baseman while in Texas where he hit .321 in Double-A last season, but the Phillies moved him to center field early in the spring and he has impressed.

As for Brown, Sandberg said the outfielder is coming along "slowly" in his recovery from left Achilles tendinitis, meaning Darin Ruf or maybe Jeff Francoeur will start in right field on Opening Day.
