Phillies Have ‘A Ton of Work to Do’ at Winter Meetings, Jimmy Kempski Talks Birds
Talking Phillies with Todd Zolecki of MLB.com. Zo is LIVE in San Diego for the annual MLB Winter meetings. Zo went back to the Yasmany Tomás story in saying that it was actually Pat Gillick who discouraged Ruben Amaro from signing the Cuban outfielder. Gillick values athleticism and Tomas is not that. Zolecki also talks about the advantages and disadvantages of trading your ace in Cole Hamels. There seems to be more optimism on the side of dealing Hamels for prospects because if you were to keep Hamels, everything would have to break the right way. When is the best time to trade Hamels? Now or in July at the trade deadline? Follow Zo on Twitter.
Talking Flyers with Dave Isaac here. Isaac is with the Flyers in Columbus for the Blue Jackets game tonight. It's another game where Vinny LeCavalier will not be playing and Isaac reports that the market for the future hall-of-famer is 'all quiet.' Also recapped their road trip so far that has them at 1-1-1 saying that "it could be worse." Follow our Flyers insider, Dave Isaac, on Twitter.
Who's In/Who's Out
On every Tuesday at 3:05 to talk Eagles. Kempski talks about the QB situation that remains a mystery right now with Mark Sanchez failing to grab hold of the starting position. It's certainly a debate as to what happens with that spot once Nick Foles is cleared. Kempski also talks about Riley Cooper and how "awful" he has been on deep routes. Follow Kempski on Twitter.
