The Phillies received some bad news today, outfielder Aaron Altherr will be sidelined for 4-6 months after undergoing surgery Wednesday to repair a torn sheath tendon in his left wrist.

The injury to Altherr opens the door for Cody Asche and Rule 5 pick Tyler Goeddel to get more playing time.  Odubel Herrera and Peter Bourjos will most likely get a bulk of the playing time with Asche and Goeddel likely to platoon with Altherr out until at least the all-star break.
