The Phillies have placed catcher Erik Kratz on the 15-day disabled list with a left knee injury.  Steven Lerud is up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to take Kratz's roster spot.

Kratz came up limping after he tried to beat out a ground ball to begin the ninth inning.

While the severity isn't known at this time, Kratz will likely be out for a while.  Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said Kratz felt it "pop," something that you never want to hear.
Humberto Quintero will serve as the Phillies' starting backstop and Lerud will be his back-up until Carlos Ruiz is ready to return to the team.  Ruiz said this week he hoped to head to Clearwater early next week to begin a rehab assignment.
