The Philadelphia Phillies will open the 2019 MLB season against the Atlanta Braves to kick of the Major League Baseball season on March 31 in Philadelphia.

It will be the first Sunday Night Baseball game of the season between two teams that figure to be in play for the N.L. East and could be a good indicator that the Phillies might be a big player in free agency.

They have been rumored to be in on some big free agents, and even Phillies owner John Middleton recent said he expects to “maybe even be a little stupid” about how much money the his Phillies will spend this winter.
