The Philadelphia Phillies will be painting the city red this summer.

The team announced that it will be dawning a new look when they wear red alternate jerseys during six midweek games. The first date is April 14th, followed by: May 18th, June 8th, June 20th, July 6th and August 4th.

The Phillies have championed these new uniforms as being part of Majestic's new flex base uniform. It is designed to reduce the weight by 10-20 percent.

"We're excited to bring a new, colorful look to Citizens Bank Park this year," Phillies senior vice president of marketing and advertising sales David Buck said in a statement.

It will be the first time since 1979 that the Phillies will go all red during a regular season game. The last time it happened was when the team sported an all-burgundy uniform at Veterans Stadium.
