The Phillies sat catcher Wilson Ramos tonight against the Nationals, after he underwent an MRI on his left hand in Philadelphia, an injury that he sustained while catching on Sunday.

He was back in Washington and available for tonight's game, but that would explain his absence from the starting line-up. Jorge Alfaro got the start tonight hitting seventh.

Ramos is hitting .412 with four doubles, a triple and four RBIs in just seven games with the Phillies.  He was acquired from Tampa Bay on July 31st and was activated from the disabled list on August 15.
