Where was AL last night?

The National league won the All-Star Game last night and will now have home-field advantage in the World Series this year.  After the American League dominated much of the late 90's and 2000's, the NL has won three straight.  Should the All-Star Game decide home-field advantage in the World Series?  Mike and Todd debate:

Dorell Wright trade

The Philadelphia Sixers made a trade with the Golden State Warriors last night and acquired sharp-shooting SF Dorell Wright.  He has one year left on his contract, add that to an expiring Nick Young contract and next season the Sixers could be major players in free agency.  With free agents such as: Tyreke Evans, Al Jefferson, and dare I say Chris Paul, 2013 class is a stronger one.  Still, with the additions of Nick Young and Dorell Wright, are the Sixers a top 4/5 team this season?

Top 20 Most Powerful Moments of TV

The few day(s) after the All-Star Game are some of the most boring times ever.  So with not much going on, we went over a Top 20 list Nielsen compiled of the Top 20 Most Powerful Moments on TV.  Sadly, No. 1 was the 9/11 bombings.  Others that made the list: OJ Simpson saga, The Challenger exploding, Columbine High School shooting and the Hurricane Katrina coverage.  Read the Top 20 list in its entirety.

The return of Yambo!

In honor of The Craig Kilbron Show, The Sportsbash played our version of the game YAMBO.  It's Todd Ranck vs. Intern Zach Barlage:

Tom Verducci talks Hamels

Tom Verducci, Sports Illustrated, called in and talked Phillies second-half and the status of Cole Hamels contract negotiations.  As Jim Salisbury stated yesterday, the biggest hurdle is the length of contract the Phillies would be willing to give Hamels.  On Victorino: he has value as there is not a whole lot of those type guys out there.  The Pirates and Reds could be interested.  Tom Verducci covers MLB for Sports Illustrated, FOX and the MLB Network.

Flyers rookie Scott Laughton

Philadelphia Flyers rookie prospect Scott Laughton called in LIVE from the Trial on the Isle event from Stone Harbor, he was playing in the softball event at the time.  Growing up, Laughton was a huge fan of Joe Sakic, Steve Yzerman and Mike Richards.  He's played hockey since he was about 3 years old, and it's always been the sport he wanted to play and succeed at.  The Flyers drafted Laughton in the first round with the 20th overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Level Draft.

Football Fix

On today's Football Fix, Mike Gill and Ryan Messick concentrate on the QB Countdown Ron Jaworski has been doing for ESPN. Should Tim Tebow be on the list?  Is the top 5-10 accurate?  Gill and Messick debate this + find out who takes Mark Sanchez over Jay Cutler:

Jim Barnett talks hoops, Dorell Wright

Golden State Warriors television analyst, Jim Barnett, called in and gave us the lowdown on newly acquired SF Dorell Wright.  Barnett said Wright will fit in well with the Sixers, they'll like him, but he's "a flawed player, a 3-point specialist."  But let's be honest: the Sixers need a guy who can shoot from the perimeter.  Surprisingly, Barnett saw and interviewed rookie Moe Harkless in California and called him " a future 20-point scorer in this league."  Jim Barnett is entering his 27th season with the Warriors broadcast team and has played along side many Pro Basketball Hall of Famers.
