Chase Utley returns

For the first time since October 7th, 2011 Chase Utley is an active player on the Phillies roster. After missing all of Spring Training and the first three months of the season, Utley is back in the Phillies lineup batting 3rd. 2B Michael Martinez has been optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Will the return of Chase Utley help the Phillies in the long run? Mike Gill and Todd Ranck opened today's show with that very question.

With the returns of Chase Utley and eventually Ryan Howard, the weakest part of the Phillies is now their bullpen. Mike and Todd each took 3 pitchers from the current bullpen to go forward with in the second half of the season. Which three pitchers are you taking?

Bob Cooney calls in

Philadelphia Daily News beat writer Bob Cooney called in and previewed the NBA Draft for the Sixers tomorrow night. Cooney said the Sixers are indeed "quite fine" with staying put at no.15 tomorrow night. Bob Cooney believes that the Sixers will draft either SBU Andrew Nicholson or MSU Arnett Moultrie. Cooney also said this pick at no. 15 will be a foreshadowing of whats to happen in the coming weeks during the free agency period. Should the Sixers trade Andre Iguodala? If so, for who? Went over some of the things Bob Cooney had to say about the Sixers draft. Sixers President Rod Thorn had some comments about what he expects to do at selection 15 tomorrow night. Mike Gill likes Andrew Nicholson, Terrance Ross, and perhaps Tyler Zeller. Mike went over a Mock Draft that had the Sixers selecting Arnett Moultrie. Many analysts have compared Moultrie to a Jermaine O'Neal type. You can listen to the 2012 NBA Draft on 97.3 ESPN FM beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Ryan Lawrence talks Utley/Howard/Halladay

Ryan Lawrence called in LIVE from Citizens Bank Park and talked Phillies injuries. Ryan Howard ran sprints this afternoon and will see the doctor tonight. If things go well for Howard, he will begin a rehab assignment tomorrow in Lakewood. That means 20 days or sooner, Ryan Howard will be back in the Phillies lineup. As for Roy Halladay, he has begun throwing and may throw a bullpen today. For the trade deadline, the Phillies top priority will be to upgrade their bullpen. Follow Ryan Lawrence on Twitter.

Phillies 1B Ryan Howard was in town and spoke to the media after his workout at Citizens Bank Park. Howard said he still has a little ways to go before he feels 100 percent. Howard said he may not even be 100 percent until next year: "I may not be 100 percent until next year, but all I can do is give you 100 percent of 85 percent." Howard looks to begin his 20 day maximum rehab assignment tomorrow in Lakewood for the Blue Claws.
