Did you miss the Sports Bash or do you just want to listen to it again?

The Sports Bash ON DEMAND gives you the chance to go back and hear what you missed.  Its the Sports Bash with Mike Gill and Todd Ranck.

Here is today’s show: Thursday May 31st, 2012.

Celtics done?

We open the show up with our main topic of the day: the Boston Celtics.  Is the series finished?  Do you believe that the Celtics can still win this series?  Mike Gill gives it about a 5 percent chance saying they gave it all they had last night, but it just wasn't enough to beat a superior Heat team.  Todd Ranck on the other hand, still strongly believes this Celtics team has the will and the desire to overcome their deficit.  Gill compared last nights game to when an old Mike Tyson fought an up and coming Lennox Lewis where Tyson gave it his all, but it just wasnt enough.

LeBron in closing seconds

LeBron James took the final two shots in regulation last night and Mike Gill believes it was somewhat of a break through with James as it looked like he wanted to take the final shot.  Although he did have problems with his shot making decision.  Todd still doesn't feel that there was any break through and Dwyane Wade was the player who closed the game Wednesday night in overtime.  The Eastern Conference Finals will now shift to Boston for Games 3 and 4 beginning Friday night.

Phillies Scott Proefrock on

Phillies Assistant GM Scott Proefrock called in on the Phillies off day and gave some interesting answers on both the Phillies injuries and the status of Cole Hamels contract situation.  On the injury front, Proefrock said 2B Chase Utley has been swinging the bat well in BP and it all depends on when "he can get his legs underneath him."  He's not certain that Utley can play 5-6 times per week which may leave a spot for rookie Fredy Galvis to stay at the major league level.

On Cole Hamels contract situation: "We would like to keep those discussions private and if Cole Hamels is NOT a Phillies pitcher next season, it wont be because we didnt want him here."  Scott Proefrock is the Assistant General Manager for the Phillies.

Jeff McLane talks OTAS

Philadelphia Eagles are in the middle of their OTA's this week and Jeff McLane, Philadelphia Inquirer called in and gave us an update.  The player that has been the most impressive to him is CB Brandon Boykin saying he will push Joselio Hanson for that third cornerback position.  Fletcher Cox and Mychal Kendricks have looked very good albeit with no pads, no contact.  On the back up quarterback position: Mike Kafka will have every opportunity to win job, but he wouldn't rule out rookie Nick Foles.  He has a strong arm and is more accurate than both Kafka and Trent Edwards.  Jeff McLane covers the Eagles for the Philadelphia Inquirer and philly.com.  Follow him on Twitter.
