Thunder take Game 1

The Thunder took Game 1 of the NBA Finals last night as it was heard on 97.3 ESPN FM.  The Heat had a great 1st half, but lost their edge in the second half/4th quarter as many of the Thunder opponents have suffered throughout these playoffs.  Although LeBron James scored his 30 point average, it still wasnt enough for Mike Gill and Todd Ranck.  Mike called it "a great performance, but not great enough."  NBA Finals Game 2 is tomorrow night on 97.3 ESPN FM.  Listen to Mike Gill and Todd Ranck breakdown Game 1 of the NBA Finals here:

More LeBron...

This segment, we take callers on LeBron James game last night, many of whom defended the performance of James.  Now of course Mike Gill maintains his stance on LeBron James of "I'm not a hater, I'm indifferent," but a lot of the listeners (me including) maintain our stance that indeed he is a "hater."  Either way it's only Game 1 of a possible 7 game series.  Mike Gill even goes as far as to say Kevin Durant has a chance to be mentioned in the same sentence as Michael Jordan.  I remember a certain King who was always mentioned in the same sentence as #23 when he was 23.

Jason Jackson on Heat

Miami Heat sideline reporter and 790 The Ticket Radio Host in Miami, Jason Jackson, called in and gave us a Miami Heat perspective about their Game 1 loss last night.  The reaction in Miami if you'd play The Blame Game is: 1. Erik Spoelstra.  Jackson said that he expects Chris Bosh to be inserted in the starting lineup and LeBron James to be guarding Kevin Durant much more.  Jason Jackson is in his seventh season as sideline reporter for the Miami Heat.  Follow Jason Jackson on Twitter.

Todd Zolecki LIVE from Minnesota

Todd Zolecki, MLB.com, called in live from Minnesota and was asked if the Phillies have hit rock bottom and his answer was: not yet.  He said the Phillies are still holding out hope that Ryan Howard and Chase Utley will return true to form and they can sneak in that 2nd Wildcard spot.  As far as the injuries go, the only good news with their injuries is Chase Utley is now due back at the end of the month.  On Ryan Howard, he may be back by the All-Star Break in July.  Todd Zolecki covers the Phillies for MLB.com, read his blog entitled The Zo Zone. Will there be any shake-ups in house with this team?  Find out below:

Whats a better brand of baseball?

Mike Gill played a cut from Phillies GM Ruben Amaro, Jr. saying "we need to play a better brand of baseball."  Mike Gill wonders what a better brand of baseball is when you have terrible players?  With this bullpen, with John Mayberry, Jr.  You can't.  He brought up a player like Josh Willingham, who the Phillies are seeing with the twins this week, he's making $7M this year.
