Did you miss the Sports Bash or do you just want to listen to it again?

The Sports Bash ON DEMAND gives you the chance to go back and hear what you missed.  Its the Sports Bash with Mike Gill and Todd Ranck.

Here is today’s show: Wednesday May 23rd, 2012.

Do the Phillies have it this year?

The show opens today with talk of another Phillies loss last night where the offense struggled yet again.  Mike Gill gives a stat of a 3-13 record in the last 16 games for the Phillies against the Nationals.  The guys now wonder what GM Ruben Amaro is thinking whether or not they will be buyers or sellers in July.  The problem with both of these instances is: 1. The Phillies farm system isnt all that attractive anymore, 2. The Phillies current contracts to sell arent all that attractive either.  Important to note, the Phillies are not close to any deal whatsoever.

What trade would you take back?

Mike Gill asks an interesting question: if you had a chance to undo one Phillies transaction in Amaro's tenure, what would it be?  Mike Gill says he would love to undo the 1st Cliff Lee trade.  Mike believes the Phillies are still hurt to this day from that trade.  In fact, the Phillies should be able to afford to trade Shane Victorino because Tyson Gillies was a CF you received in return for Lee.

More Amaro questions

We tweeted the question out: What one Ruben Amaro deal would you "amnesty" if you had the chance?  A caller in this segment actually asked Mike "if he had an hour and a half because there are too many."  Other suggestions on our Twitter page have been: Jimmy Rollins extension, Joe Blanton extension and of course the Ryan Howard $125M contract.

Steve Perry vs. Pineda?

Had some fun in this segment when the guys were talking about watching a video of the band Journey with their new lead singer Arnel Pineda over Steve Perry.  Mike and Todd both agree the new singer (Pineda) just cannot compare to the classic voice of Steve Perry.  A lot of laughs in this segment!  By the way, Journey is NOT scheduled to appear in our area on their tour this summer.

Donny Marshall talks Game 6

Caught up with Donny Marshall, CSN New England for a preview of Sixers vs. Celtics Game 6 tonight.  Marshall expects a much different Paul Pierce tonight than what we've seen for most of this series.  He said Pierce knows this is a close-out game and the Celtics need the rest for the next round.  Marshall also said that this game rests on Andre Iguodala.  If he struggles then so do the Sixers.  If he is on his game then so our the Sixers.  Donny Marshall is an NBA analyst for CSN New England and CSNNE.com.

High Cheese on Phillies state

David Murphy, Philadelphia Daily News beat writer, called in and gave his thoughts on the Phillies right now, especially on the comments Roy Halladay had on the team last night.  Halladay said that basically they are just pressing right now and they just need to go out there, have fun and play baseball.  Murphy believes that the Phillies aren't done and will turn it around this season.  On the Nationals, Murphy commented on how they were like the Phillies in the 90's up until this year when the pieces are finally starting to come together, much like they did for the Phillies in 2008.  David Murphy covers the Phillies for the Daily News and philly.com. Read his blog: High Cheese.

Eagles Day 2 of OTAS

DeSean Jackson spoke today at Eagles OTAs and talked about how different this year is compared to last year for the simple fact that he has a new contract and a fresh attitude.  Eagles CB Nnamdi Asomugha also spoke after OTAs and carried most of the same sediments from Jackson.  Our Eagles Insider Ryan also chimed in with his thoughts.
