Did you miss the Sports Bash or do you just want to listen to it again?

The Sports Bash ON DEMAND gives you the chance to go back and hear what you missed.  Its the Sports Bash with Mike Gill and Todd Ranck.

Here is today’s show: Tuesday July 3rd, 2012.

Storm Recovery

Opened today's show with some aftermath of the storms over the weekend with still much of our listening area is without power.  Atlantic City Electric reported nearly 206,000 customers were without electricity at the height of the storm.  Currently, it has been decreased to 69-70,000.  Mike Gill and Todd Ranck were talking about how they live in Margate, NJ and had no idea the severity of the storm as their power has stayed in tact.  I, myself was in Florida over the weekend and my departing flight back to Atlantic City was subsequently canceled due to the storm.  Atlantic City Electric can be reached at: 1.800-642.3780.

Sleeper to the Sixers?

Mike Gill gives Todd Ranck his # 1 sleeper player that the Sixers should go after in free agency: Brandon Roy.  Ranck pokes fun at this idea because Roy, a three-time All-Star was forced to retire last season due to chronic knee problems.  Still, Roy is attempting a comeback and a number of teams are interested in rolling the dice.  Should the Sixers start thinking outside-the-box in their philosophies?  Mike Gill says YES.

Storm Stories:

A few callers called into the show and shared some of their experiences with the storms over the weekend.  Some listeners were actually forced to drive through the storm Friday night on their way home from work!  Do you have a storm story/experience for us?  Share it with us on our Facebook or Twitter pages.

Ryan Howard in rehab

Mike Gill played some sound of Ryan Howard on the comeback trail in Lakewood and Lehigh Valley.  Howard is not rushing himself back to the majors until he's ready and Mike Gill agrees.  Gill also said that the return of Howard is more important than that of Chase Utley.  Unlike Utley's rehab, Howard is hitting the ball and not striking out as much.  The Phillies are back on the field tonight in New York against the Mets.

Alex Kennedy talks hoops

We get the latest on the NBA trades/free agency moves with Alex Kennedy of Hoops World. Kennedy said, like the NHL with Suter/Parise, the NBA and Derron Williams in particular is waiting for a resolution to the Dwight Howard saga.  The Joe Johnson acquisition certainly helped, but a Howard trade to the Nets would undoubtedly seal Williams resigning there.  On the Sixers front, not much is going on according to Kennedy.  Jamal Crawford looks to be leaning with the Los Angeles Clippers, Brandon Roy has narrowed his options down to handful teams which don't include the Sixers and no moves are imminent.  Alex Kennedy covers the NBA for HoopsWorld.com.  Follow him on Twitter.
