The Nashville Predators will retain high-profile defenseman Shea Weber. The team today agreed to match the offer sheet Weber signed with the Philadelphia Flyers last week.

Weber, a restricted free agent, had agreed to a 14-year contract with the Flyers worth a reported $110 million.

This is a big-time blow to a city that was ready to see one of the game's best defenseman don the orange and black.
