It seems that the Philadelphia 76ers will be getting older today.

According to a report, the team plans to sign veteran forward Elton Brand.

Brand, 36, has been out of basketball this season and last played for the Atlanta Hawks in 2014.

The former 76ers forward last played meaningful minutes in Philadelphia in 2011-2012 where he started 60 games and averaged 11 points per game.

It remains unclear what sort of deal Brand will sign with the team, it could just be a 10-day tryout type of a contract.

The Sixers have 15 players on the their roster already so the signing of Brand caused the release of Christian Wood from the roster.

The team has made multiple changes this season since Jerry Colangelo has taken over including a trade for Ish Smith which forced the release of Tony Wroten in a corresponding roster move.
