UPDATE: TMZ has since conflicted this report from Broussard. According to TMZ, Okafor's reps HAVE NOT requested security detail.

Since being drafted by the Sixers, Jahlil Okafor has been involved in several off the court incidents.

According to various reports, Okafor had a gun pulled on him last month. He also was involved in a physical altercation outside of a night club in Boston. Two prior incidents also involved Okafor speeding on the Benjamin Franklin Bridge at excess of 100 mph. He also was caught using a fake I.D. in efforts of getting into a Center City bar.

With all of the negativity surrounding Okafor, he will now have a personal bodyguard accompany him whenever he goes out on the town, this according to Chris Broussard. The request of the security detail came from Okafor's "handlers."

"A lot of teams do that for their players anyway. So from now on, the Sixers are going to have someone at his disposal full time," a source close to Okafor said.

Okafor, 20, was the Sixers first round pick in 2015 and leads all rookies with an average of 17.5 points per game for a winless Sixers team.

Okafor has taken full responsibility for his actions when speaking to reporters, he also sent out a series of tweets explaining his actions.
