If you're a Philadelphia Phillies fan, you knew long ago that Cliff Lee's elbow gave out on him.

Now it seems it has given up on him for good.

According to his agent, Lee is calling it a career.

“We don’t anticipate him playing at this point," Derek Braunecker, his agent, told FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal.

Lee, 37, last pitched in the majors for the Phillies in 2014 and it was evident that he was dealing with elbow problems. Lee missed all of last season while rehabbing a torn flexor tendon in his left elbow.

Lee was considering a comeback in 2016 if he was to find the right fit, but it seems that nothing was able to materialize due to his injury and old age.
