Perhaps, Ohio State guard D'Angelo Russell really was sick.

The former Buckeye had to cancel his meeting and workout last week with the Sixers because he was "sick."

Judging from his workout that was rescheduled for Wednesday, Russell "killed it" and "loves Philly," according to a report citing sources.

Russell arrived in Philadelphia on Tuesday afternoon and had dinner with general manager Sam Hinkie that night, before spending parts of Wednesday at the Sixers practice facility working out for the Sixers.

Russell also had a "lengthy meeting" with Sixers coach Brett Brown.

However, ESPN.com draft analyst Chad Ford has the Sixers selecting international PF Kristaps Porzingis while Russell falls to the New York Knicks fourth overall.

The first-team all-American and the Big Ten freshman of the year averaged 19.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game this past season and is expected to be a top-5 selection.

Russell also has ties with current Sixers big men Nerlens Noel and Joel Embiid, playing along side Embiid for a year in high school. Russell and Noel are acquainted through former Kentucky player Devon Booker.

The 2015 NBA Draft is June 25th.
