Report: Dodgers, Not Phillies Are Leading Contender for Machado

The Manny Machado trade deadline saga appears to have taken a sharp turn.  This time, the momentum is headed away from the Phillies and somewhere else.  There appears to be a new "favorite" as of Tuesday morning:

Just hours earlier, Heyman had ruled out the New York Yankees as a possibility and called the Phillies the favorites. Jon Morosi of MLB.com had also called the Phillies the "most likely" destination after last night's Home Run Derby had concluded.

But at the trade deadline, there is plenty of public posturing as clubs look to maximize the return on their players.  The Phillies could still come out on top (hence the situation being called "fluid") or they could fall short.  We will not really know until a deal is made.  Stay tuned.
