The NFL has suspended Dion Jordan for an entire season for violating the leagues substance abuse policy.

According to a report, the Eagles and Dolphins were working towards a deal that would have sent Jordan to the Eagles in exchange for a conditional late round draft pick.

It's safe to assume that those conditions revolved around snap counts and games played for Jordan.

Chip Kelly recruited Jordan to Oregon during his time at Oregon and many thought the Eagles would have taken the edge rusher with the fourth overall pick. The Dolphins, however, had other ideas and leapfrogged the Eagles and took Jordan third overall.

Jordan has been no stranger to suspensions throughout his three year career, already failing a performance-enhancing-drug test coupled with a substance abuse violation. Kelly still had interest in the former Oregon Duck with his stock dropping, this suspension will put any trade speculation to an end.

Eagles guard Evan Mathis who is unhappy with his contract was mentioned in these trade talks, but still the Eagles are having difficulty in finding a taker for him.

The 2015 NFL Draft begins this Thursday and goes into Saturday afternoon from Chicago.
