The Philadelphia Daily News' Paul Domowitch reports the Eagles will pursue Saints coach Sean Payton if he becomes available.

Payton does have ties to the Eagles, serving as the teams quarterback coach from 1997-1998.

Payton is under contract for two more years in New Orleans, which might present a problem for the Eagles, which would have to make a trade to obtain Payton's services. While it is unclear what the Saints' asking price will be, keep in mind the Eagles do not have a second round pick this season.

Overall he is 93-61 and won the Super Bowl with the Saints in 2009.
