With Alshon Jeffery still "a few weeks away" and Mack Hollins placed on the I.R., the Eagles are expected to add free-agent wide receiver Braxton Miller, to the practice squad, pending a physical, according to a report.

Miller, the former Ohio State quarterback, was a third-round pick by the Houston Texans in 2016.  He ended up being one of the final cuts by the Texans and also worked out with the Arizona Cardinals.

The Eagles currently have six receivers on their 53-man roster – in addition to Jeffery, the Birds have Nelson Agholor, Mike Wallace, Shelton Gibson, DeAndre Carter and Markus Wheaton.

One issue for Miller has been nagging shoulder and hamstring injuries. However, if healthy, he could find a place with the Eagles, at least while Jeffery and Hollins are on the shelf.

Miller, 25, had 34 receptions for 261 yards and two touchdowns in 21 games for the Texans.
