Report: Flyers Violate CBA
The Flyers should have spent more time opening up any last presents they had.
According to a report, the Flyers may have violated the NHL Collective Bargaining Agreement.
According to the report, the Flyers traveled from Philadelphia to Nashville at 8:24 p.m. on December 26th. The CBA states that no traveling be done Dec. 24 to Dec. 26th.
Canada celebrates Boxing Day on Dec, 26th.
Article 16.5 (b) in the CBA reads: “December 24, Christmas Day, and December 26 shall be off-days for all purposes, including travel.”
That holiday break was extended to three days under the new deal ratified in January 2013.
The Flyers did have a game on December 27th and werent supposed to arrive in Nashville early that morning.
The Flyers lost 4-1 that evening.
Perhaps the team had some Christmas gifts to exchange with former head coach Peter Laviolette.
