Report: Former Phillies Star Lenny Dykstra Facing Eviction Over Unpaid Rent

Former Phillies star Lenny Dykstra, who has fallen on some tough times in the recent past, is in the news again.

The three-time All-Star and 1986 World Series champion is in trouble over missed rent payments on his Los Angeles-area apartment, according to the Daily Mail.

According to the report, Dykstra hasn't paid any rent for over a year and he owes a balance of over $50,000.

Per the report:

The former center fielder was receiving Covid rent relief, which was being offered during the pandemic, meaning the state paid his rent, according to the insider.

'But that Covid relief only lasted for 18 months and when it ended and it was time for him to start paying the rent himself, he didn't pay any more rent.

During his 13-year Major League career, eight of which were spent with the Phillies, Dykstra helped lead the 1993 Phillies to an improbable run to the World Series, before losing in six games to the Toronto Blue Jays.

During the season, Dykstra finished as the runner-up for the NL MVP award, hitting .305 with 19 home runs, 66 RBI, 37 steals, and led the NL with 143 runs scored and 194 hits.

He excelled on the big stage in the 1993 World Series, hitting 348 with four home runs and right RBI, stealing four bases in the series against Toronto.

The now 60-year old hit .285 with 81 home runs and 404 RBI during his 13-year career.
