Jeremy Maclin could be staying in green regardless of free agency.

According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the New York Jets have interest in Maclin.

The report also cites interest by the Jets in Emmanuel Sanders and Eric Decker.

Maclin is less than seven months removed from a torn ACL he suffered in training camp in late July. Maclin is in a contract year so the timing couldn't have been worse.

Maclin would be signing with familiar offensive territory, former Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg now runs the Jets offense and will be entering his second season with the team.

The Eagles have also expressed interest in retaining Maclin, although a 1-year contract would be the most likeliest of scenarios.

If the Jets were to sign both Maclin and Sanders, Maclin would presumably be their first option with Sanders being "a second fiddle."

Free agency is 'slated' to begin on March 11.
