"When will the Phillies make a move?"   I have heard this question plenty in recent days.  But the Phillies are active, it would appear.  According to reports, the Phillies are currently hosting the top free agent pitcher on the market.

Patrick Corbin is currently in town:

The Phillies will likely have some competition for Corbin, though.

The New York Yankees might be a team that is interested in Corbin.  Corbin is a native of Clay, New York.  The Yankees were reportedly interested in Corbin, but ended up trading for James Paxton, another young left-handed starter.  It is unclear if they will be interested in Corbin still after trading for Paxton.

Corbin could travel up the New Jersey Turnpike after his visit to Philadelphia, but that remains to be seen.

Should the Phillies sign Corbin, he will be the first left-handed starter in their rotation on a regular basis since Adam Morgan left the role in 2016.  The two-time All-Star is a lifetime 56-54 with a 3.91 ERA with the Arizona Diamondbacks.  He went 11-7 with a 3.15 ERA in 2018 and was a National League All-Star.
