ESPN's MLB writer Jerry Crasnick reports that the Astros recently discussed a possible Ken Giles trade with the Phillies.

According to Crasnick, the Phillies have been getting a lot of "hits" on Giles and expects trade talks to become more prevalent in Nashville at the winter meetings.

Two names Crasnick mentions are pitchers Lance McCullers and Vincent Velasquez, sources say.

Last week, according to ESPN's Jayson Stark, the Phillies are asking for two or three "high-ceiling prospects" in exchange for Giles.

Giles had a 1.80 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 87 K's in 70 innings this last season, taking over the closer's role after Jonathan Papelbon was moved to the Nationals

Giles won't be eligible for arbitration until 2017.
