After another blowout loss from the New Orleans Saints, the team has fired defensive coordinator Rob Ryan.

The news first reported by Alex Marvez, FOX Sports, comes after a 47-14 dismal defensive performance. It's the second time in three weeks that the Saints have surrendered 47 points.

The firing of Ryan ends a tumultuous two and half years with the Saints. The team is on pace to give up 45 touchdown passes, which would be a league record.

The Saints defense has also given up a NFL-high of 315 points overall, which is easily the highest total in the league. Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins torched the Saints secondary to a tune of four touchdowns and 324 passing yards.

The Saints have a bye in Week 10 before traveling to Houston to take on the Texans.
