According to Jim Salisbury of CSNPhilly.com, long-term talks between the Phillies and Cole Hamels are "starting to heat up" this week in Clearwater, Florida.

This is good news for Phillies fans, hearing that the two sides are at least in the discussion phase means that Hamels is truly a priority for the team.  Many baseball people think that hamels will get somewhere in the $20-million range.  Hamels' agent, John Boggs,is in Clearwater at the Phillies' spring training to engage in contract discussions with the Philadelphia front office.
