The 76ers have a head coach.

According to multiple reports, San Antonio Spurs assistant head coach Brett Brown has accepted the Sixers offer to become the team's next head coach.

Sports Illustrated Ian Thomsen first reported the hire.

The Sixers have yet to make any formal announcements on the hire.

On Friday it was reported that the Sixers had made an offer to Brown and the two parties were reviewing contract length and compensation.

Brown has served as an assistant under Gregg Popvich for the last seven seasons, along with Mike Budenholzer who recently bolted to Atlanta to be their next head coach.

Brown was one of four candidates who met with the Sixers in New York this week joining Jay Larranaga, Adrian Griffin and Kenny Atkinson. Current Sixers associate coach Michael Curry was also considered a finalist for the job.

Brown coached in the Australian National Basketball League for 14 seasons, winning 149 games. Brown also served as head coach for the Australian National team leading them to a seventh place finish at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

Media and fan scrutiny has grown during the summer months with the Sixers pace, or lack thereof, on hiring their next head coach after the team had parted ways with Doug Collins close to four months ago.
