According to several sources, including Jon Heyman‎ of CBS Sports, the Phillies and Cole Hamels have agreed in principle to a six-year contract which should make Hamels the highest paid Phillie EVER!

The deal is reportedly worth over $140 million and comes after months of speculation and back-and-forth between the all-star pitcher and the only team he's ever played for.

It's also believed to be the second highest salary ever given to a major league pitcher.
