Despite averaging 75 Catches, 891 Yards and Six Touchdowns during his three seasons in Philadelphia, Jordan Matthews never appeared to be apart of the team's plans for the future as they gave out several contract extensions to his Eagles' teammates.  Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports reported that the Eagles and Bills spoke about a potential Jordan Matthews trade before the 2017 NFL Draft.

Robinson is Yahoo Sports Senior NFL and Investigative Reporter and he joined Rich Quinones on Monday to discuss the Eagles-Bills trade:

"Jordan Matthews was a guy that (Eagles) were listening for offers, someone was interested and I know that the Bills, actually that was specifically when I heard it I couldn't name the Bills but, the Bills were the team I knew (back in March/April) had interest in Jordan Matthews.  Now why it took this long, there's a number of things; I think for the Bills the interest increased in a couple of ways, number one if there is a third round pick on the table which is really honestly I think the true trade piece.  I don't think this was (Ronald) Darby for Jordan Matthews, this was Darby for a third round pick....I can see why you would make that trade, particularly if you can add a 23 year old Cornerback who is quality.  I think it's one of those deals that actually worked out well for both sides, they both walked away with a piece they really wanted."
