When new Eagles Head Coach pegged Jim Schwartz to be the new Defensive Coordinator, the Philadelphia fan base gained the hope that the defense in 2016 will be improved.  The Eagles have only been ranked once in the top 15 in defense in the NFL over the last six seasons.

ESPN NFL Nation Eagles Reporter Phil Sheridan joined The Sports Bash on Wednesday, says that in 2016 that this defense will be fully in the hands of Jim Schwartz and no one is telling him what to do:

"This is gonna be Jim Schwartz defense, you know, he's not going to do what Pederson wants on defense, its his defense. And Schwartz has enough experience and credentials to believe he knows what he is doing. He is going to get a lot out of the guys who are here and that is a very promising thing"

Hear what Sheridan also had to say about the importance of the Eagles re-signing Nolan Carroll and what we can expect from Doug Pederson's offense in 2016.
