No, it's not Steve Mix.

Rather, the Sixers and CSN Philadelphia have hired former Duke forward Alaa Abdelnaby as their new color commentator for the 2015-16 basketball season.

Abdenalby was a member of the Duke basketball team from 1986-1990 before being drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round of the 1990 draft.

The Egypt native spent five years in the NBA, including a stint with the 76ers in 1995 before playing international basketball in several leagues.

Abdenalby comes with decades of broadcasting experience, however. He has spent time with Westwood One, CBS Sports and NBA TV. He also spent time broadcasting NBA games in Arabic for Orbit Satellite Television.

The 76ers broadcasting team was left with a vacancy after Malik Rose took a front office position with the Atlanta Hawks during the off season.

Abdenalby is expected to be on the call with during the preseason before starting the regular season along side Marc Zumoff on October 28th against the Boston Celtics.
