According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the 76ers and JaVale McGee are in discussions over a buyout.  The Sixers acquired McGee at the NBA trade deadline along with a protected first round draft pick.

The pick got in the deal for Mcgee was acquired from Denver.  Denver acquired the pick from Cleveland through Oklahoma City and is 1-to-18 protected this season and lottery-protected in the following two drafts.

Sixers would have to waive McGee by midnight tonight to be eligible to play in the 2015 playoffs with another team.
