According to a report from ESPN's Marc Stein, Sixers associate head coach, Mike D'Antoni will reportedly interview for the Rockets' head coach position this week.

With the Sixers at 1-26, D'Antoni reached an agreement with the 76ers to join Brett Brown's staff back on December 12, 2015. With chairman Jerry Colangelo freshly on board, many thought he had a direct hand in his hiring.

Now with his son Bryan running the show, many around the NBA think D'Antoni could be promoted to head coach in Philadelphia if other teams start calling. It was reported by on April 14 that the Sixers could fire Brown and promote D'Antoni, if he got offers elsewhere.

From Ken Berger of CBS Sports:

if D’Antoni, the Sixers’ associate head coach, gets offers elsewhere — besides Brooklyn, he could be a fit in Washington or Phoenix — then Colangelo may be tempted to let Brown go and bump D’Antoni up to head coach in order to keep him, sources say. Ownership may have other ideas, remaining firmly supportive of Brown.
