Aaron Nola's Double-A Reading debut, at least gives Phillies fans hop for the future.

Former LSU stand-out and current Phillies prospect Aaron Nola dazzled in his first start for the Reading Phillies, in route to a 9-2 win over the Harrisburg Senators Wednesday night. Nola was sharp, allowing six hits and a run, with four strikeouts in five innings of work.

The hard throwing rightly threw 72 pitches, 47 for strikes, and worked himself out of trouble in his first Double-A start. The Phillies drafted Aaron Nola with the 7th overall pick in this years MLB draft. Nola was the first Phillies prospect to be drafted and make his Double-A debut in the same season since Brad Brink in 1986. With a fastball that reaches the mid 90's, Nola has all the talent to be a future front line starter for the Phillies.
