Barrett Brooks

Former Eagles offensive lineman and Super Bowl champion Barrett Brooks called in to talk about the Eagles loss to the Steelers yesterday. Brooks said that Mike Vick needs to learn how to read blitzes pre-snap to get rid of the ball quicker. Brooks also commented on the Eagles turnover problem in the red zone saying that they can't keep doing it and expect to be in contention at the end of the season. Eagles lost game yesterday because ___________?

Simple question with a not so simple answer. Did the Eagles lose yesterday because of the Mike Vick fumbles? Did the defense lose the game for them on the Steelers final drive? Was it that game plan/play calling? Mike, Todd and a few callers discuss this very question:

Ryan Messick

We played the same game with our Eagles Insider Ryan Messick and he seemed to say that the Eagles lost yesterday because of the two Vick turnovers at such a critical part of the field. Messick also blames him for his inability to read pre-snap reads and putting the ball on the ground 4 times yesterday. Messick also comments on the punting problem the Eagles are now faced with. Tiki Barber Wants Vick Benched

Mike Gill went over an article Tiki Barber wrote in the USA TODAY that wants the Eagles and Andy Reid to bench Mike Vick. In the article Tiki cites his turnovers, Andy Reid's job security and the possibility of teammates eventually turning on Vick if the turnover problems continue. Mike Gill had a few choice words for Barber and this article:

Jeff McLane on every Monday at 5:30 said that the Eagles lost yesterday simply because they missed opportunities. The Steelers wanted to give away the game in the first half with bad snaps, penalties and a lack of offense. On Vick's turnover problems: he plays the game instinctively, ignore his comments after the game and it's becoming one of those things that they just don't have an answer for.
