Trade Deadline

The NBA trade deadline came and went today at 3 p.m. and the Sixers stood pat. There was some buzz surrounding potential deals involving Evan Turner and Spencer Hawes. There were reports that the Sixers were in on talks involving J.J. Redick. No deal was made…er the Sixers made a minor deal with Golden State for PG Charles Jenkins so the Sixers will see what they have in Andrew Bynum when and if he ever plays a game for the team.

Rick Tocchet

CSN Philly analyst called in to talk about the Flyers win last night and to preview their game tonight against the Panthers. Tocchett called Wayne Simmonds “one of his favorite players in the whole league” and it was evident last night when the team got down 2-0 last night, Simmonds was in there mixing it up and getting his team energized. Tocc also talks about the Flyers depth and how it could carry them the rest of this season.

5 Questions

1. Favorite trade deadline?

2. You’ve been higher on the Flyers than I have, I always had them as a fringe playoff team. That’s where they are but they’re playing well. A little past 1/3 of the season, what are the Flyers going to be?

3. Today is the beginning of Read Me Week. What’s the last book you read?

4. The Sixers were in pursuit of JJ Redick. Would that have excited you?

5.  49ers playing it close to the vest on Alex Smith. As we discuss QBs again, should the Eagles make an offer?
