Ben Revere

Mike Gill opens up the show talking about the trade the Phillies pulled off this afternoon. They acquired Twins OF Ben Revere in exchange for Vance Worley and Trevor May. Mike Gill sounds pretty excited about the move as the team has finally acquired the "true" lead off hitter they have desperately lacked over the years. Mike Gill wonders what comes next.

KC Joyner called in at his usual Thursday afternoon spot to talk about the Eagles and preview this game coming up against the Bucs. Joyner talks about the emergence of Doug Martin and why he's been so successful. Also talks about what player the Eagles should target in the draft as they probably will wind up with a top 5 pick. Today casino officials announced that a total of $500,000.00 was raised for the Red Cross in Operation Hat Trick. Hurricane Sandy ravaged our area last month and we at 97.3 ESPN FM were pleased to be apart of it. Our Todd Ranck was at Caesars Casino with a report:

USA Today reporter was LIVE in Nashville with a report on the Phillies. Nightengale said that he loves the Ben Revere trade, as he's "a Michael Bourn clone at a cheaper price." He also believes that Michael Young will accept the trade to Philadelphia because he knows what is ahead if he stays in Texas. Philadelphia Daily News beat writer called in on his way out of Nashville to talk about the move. Lawrence expects another move shortly and it could be Michael Young at 3B. The Phillies still have some money saved from trading some pieces away last season and they've acquired cheaper players this week.
