Barry Melrose

Took part in our NHL preview today and what the outlook is for the Philadelphia Flyers this season. Ilya Bryzgalov is gone, with Ray Emery and Steve Mason looking at a tandem goal tending position for the time being. Melrose likes the additions of Hal Gill and Mark Streit on the defensive end, a position that the Flyers had to get better at in the off season. Melrose said there is "no reason" they shouldn't be a playoff team.

Bucky Brooks

Bucky Brooks is an NFL Network/NFL.com analyst and you can follow him on Twitter. Brooks joined Mike Gill to discuss this game against the Giants in New York and just how bad are the Giants so far this season. Brooks also goes into the Eagles offense and why it is struggling to score, although their yardage wouldn't tell you that. NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football continues this week with 2 games: Buffalo Bills at Cleveland Browns on Thursday at 8:00 PM ET and San Diego Chargers at Oakland Raiders on Sunday at 11:30 PM ET.

Dave Isaac

A Flyers preview with our insider Dave Isaac of The Courier Post. The Flyers begin their 2013 campaign tonight at home against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Follow Isaac on Twitter.

Sheil Kapadia

Birds 24/7 is the blog and Kapadia joins us every Wednesday at 5:30 to talk some Eagles football. Today Kapadia talked about the importance of the Eagles running game against the Giants as that really is the Eagles strength. Kapadia also talks about what he has seen on the defensive side of the football. Follow Kapadia on Twitter.

5 Questions

1. How long do you give Peter Laviolette this season?

2. What (usually) will work better: a platoon in goal or a platoon in baseball, usually in the outfield?

3. What city deserves a World Series birth more: Cleveland, Oakland, or Pittsburgh?

4. Billy Davis told reporters to "trust" his defense even though the results are not there. Can the Eagles defense get better, or have we already seen their potential?

5. We saw the Sixers release their slogan: "Together We Build" today. What should the Eagles slogan be labeled?
