MAYS LANDING — With a full slate of games the next few days and the Diamond Classic this weekend, St. Joseph baseball coach Tom Carney wanted to get his starting pitcher out in the fifth inning after the Wildcats took a 4-0 lead on host ACIT in the hopes he could use him again later in the week.

BUENA VISTA — Cedar Creek head coach Shawn Cohen and his counterpart, Pam Pickett of Buena Regional, both feared the worst as each team was coming off a week layoff due to rain.
