Perhaps the Islanders slept through the first shift of the game, giving up the puck on a turnover and the glorious chance for Voracek to put the Flyers in front. From there, nothing was easy for the Flyers offensively and the Islanders gave them a taste of their own medicine with physical play and a tenacious forecheck.

The goalies are the leading topic at camp now with Alex Lyon and now Neuvirth dealing with injuries. Brian Elliott is also working his way back from an injury. Forwards Cole Bardreau, Greg Carey, Phil Varone and Danick Martel as well as defenseman T.J. Brennan were placed on waivers on Friday. Martel was claimed off waivers by the Tampa Bay Lightning while the other four cleared, bringing the Flyers roster to 36 players.

It was difficult to find many positives out of this game, a 3-0 loss for the Flyers to the Islanders, and an injury to Travis Sanheim only added to it.
