O.C. girls lacrosse snaps EHT’s 14-game win streak

 

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP — The Ocean City girls lacrosse team suffered a 12-11 loss to bitter rival Mainland Regional on May 4. The Red Raiders have taken out their frustrations on Cedar Creek and Egg Harbor Township the past two games, scoring 36 goals while allowing just 11.

EHT girls lacrosse one of hottest teams in S.J.

Egg Harbor Township girls lacrosse coach Franklin Williams didn’t shave prior to an April 5 game against Millville. The Eagles started the season with consecutive losses to Mainland and Middle Township, but against the Thunderbolts they wiped out a 9-7 halftime deficit by outscoring Millville 9-5 in the second half to capture their first win of the season. Williams figured not shaving was a good luck charm, and jokingly told his team that he wasn’t going to shave again until the Eagles lost another game.
As the calendar turned to May, coach Williams’ wife wasn’t too happy about her husband’s three-week beard.

EHT baseball red hot, wins 7th straight

 

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP — Pitching coach Sean Coyle had to leave Egg Harbor Township's game against Vineland on Wednesday in the second inning, as his wife was set to deliver a baby. No doubt Coyle was getting social media updates throughout the game, but he needn't have worried. Right-hander Drew Hickman was in complete command.

EHT boys track halts Oakcrest’s 48-meet CAL winning streak

 

Heading into this spring, the last time Egg Harbor Township's boys track team beat rival Oakcrest in a dual meet current seniors were in seventh grade. Every other Cape-Atlantic League team had similar results against the Falcons, as Oakcrest built up a 48-meet league winning streak since a loss to EHT in 2010.

The Eagles threw that monkey off their back with authority on Wednesday afternoon, beating Oakcrest 93-47 to end the Falcons' winning streak.

EHT softball wipes out 5-3 deficit, rallies late to beat Millvile and remain undefeated

 

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP — The mark of a great boxer is being able to take a punch and not go down, even when the knees get a little wobbly and a little bit of double vision starts creeping in.

The Egg Harbor Township softball team took Millville's best punch on Thursday afternoon and responded with a stirring comeback that led to a 6-5 win that kept the high-flying Eagles undefeated.

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP — The Egg Harbor Township girls lacrosse team is trying to work its way toward being the type of team that can compete for the top spot in the Cape-Atlantic League. Getting over the .500 mark is a step in the right direction for the Eagles, who fought off a scrappy Cedar Creek squad Tuesday, winning 14-9 to improve to 3-2.
